Welcome!
I’m Amy Padilla, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Florida, and founder of Fleur de Luz Counseling, LLC. I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology from University of Maryland University College and a masters in Social Work from Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey.
Therapy here is rooted for those who have spent a lifetime taking care of others, navigating complicated family relationships, or surviving experiences that required strength long before it should have been asked of you. Originally from New Orleans and raised by first generation immigrant parents from Central and South America, my work is shaped by a deep respect for culture, resilience, faith, and the stories we carry from our families and communities.
Through my spouse’s active duty military career—now retired—I have had extensive experiences connecting with people from diverse backgrounds and life circumstances. My experience includes working with active duty military and their families, homeless veterans, children and families involved in foster care, couples, and individuals. This perspective affords me a trauma-informed approach that recognizes how early family roles, chronic stress, and unspoken expectations can lead to patterns of people-pleasing, emotional exhaustion, and difficulty setting boundaries.
